แนวความคิด
งานศิลปะ ไม่ว่ามาจากกลุ่มใด ใช้เทคนิคไหน ย่อมมีคุณค่าในตัวของมันเอง ผมเลือกที่จะถ่ายทอดแทนความรู้สึกในรูปแบบสีน้ำ เพราะรักและชอบสีน้ำ ตลอดถึงทำแล้วมีความสุข โดยเฉพาะงานสีน้ำทางด้านสถาปัตยกรรม รักและผูกพันจนแยกไม่ออก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโบสถ์, วัดวาอาราม, ตึกรามบ้านช่อง ยิ่งทำให้เกิด ความรัก ความหวงแหน และเป็นคุณค่าในงานศิลปะและสถาปัตยกรรมของบ้านเรา
Artist Story
Thanakorn Chaijinda
“I believe that someone can learn arts. They will not do anything bad. Because if art is in their hearts… they will not turn to crime and drug addiction”
“My name is Thanakorn Chaijinda and you can call me ‘Took’. I was born on December 10, 1956, near Chiang Mai. Life in the area is quiet and calm, and kind people take care of one another. My family are farmers. This atmosphere impressed me with the importance of rural life, and it appears in my works.
“In college I found that I love painting, so I majored in architectural design because my drawing and painting skills are complements. This combines the art (intangibles) with the building (tangible).
“After graduating, I worked as an architect for some 25 years before moving back home to work as an artist. I chose watercolors because I adore its calm and cool character. My style uses architectural drawing to present the calm of building in Thailand; they have their own character. Almost all my works begin when I see the building or the place and I sketch or photograph it. After that, I paint. I love this work very much and feel good living with my family in my hometown.
“Recently, I opened and arts school in my home. It’s name ‘Huan See Num’ , or ‘Watercolor House’. I opened it so any children in my area can have an inexpensive course in art. If someone want to learn but cannot pay, I teach that child. This is what I am proudest of , because I can help our children have the arts on their mind. At the present time, Thailand has so many problems with drugs, and the way to help our children is to let them have more social activities like sports, to do something they are interested in. and my home school is such an option to teach them art. I believe that if someone can learn arts, they will not do anything bad. Because if art is in their hearts, it softens the things already living in their minds so that they will not turn to crime and drug addiction.
“I am also the instructor at Mae-Jo University in perspective design with watercolors, and I continue to present my works in exhibitions. I am quite happy with this situation because I can do the work I love and help the other people too.”
